Online Identity Management System

VERiiD's online Identity Management System (IMS) enables critical privacy and Member control functionality that are relevant to cross-domain online identity management. The system protects Member privacy through minimal and selective disclosure of identity credentials.

The IMS comprises of a personal unique VERiiD™, linked in an online profiling system containing verified data about yourself. This profile is not on public domain and is not visible to anyone else, except a few people you may select in your personal Web of trust, if you choose to do so (high-level verification). The registration process takes only a few minutes to complete and your information is never shared with anyone, only confirmed where you need it to be.

To become a VERiiD Member, you will be required to do a quick, basic online identity verification in order to confirm your public identity information and link it to your online VERiiD profile. After you have sent us your identity number number, we ask a few knowledge based authentication questions (KBA) to authenticate your real-life presence online.

Should you require a higher level of verification (see Basic vs High-level identification), your online identity profile can be strengthened in various ways, including Address verification, Photo ID verification and Personal vouch verification through your personal Web of Trust, thus increasing your online identity verification levels.

We verify the following online from your SSN or ID number (Basic verification):

• » Validity of ID or Social Security number
• » Name and Surname verification
• » Age Verification
• » Gender Verification
• » Citizenship Verification

You verify the following through Physical code verification.

• » Email address Verification
• » Mobile phone Verification
• » Physical Address Verification (optional, required only for high-level verification)

You strengthen your verification through "Document possession" and photo match when you upload a copy of your picture ID (drivers license, Passport or equivalent ID card).

You strengthen your verification through the following Web of Trust components

• » Personal Vouch Verification (optional, required only for high-level verification)
• » Photo verification (optional, required only for high-level verification)

We do the following Knowledge based authentication (KBA)

Online Profile system (Your Identity Management System)

Once your verification is complete, you will have a professional online Identity Management System. Your VERiiD usage on the Internet will NOT BE TRACED, we have no interest in our Members whereabouts on the Internet or which sites they choose to join using their VERiiD. If a Web site requires the VERiiD login -or joining system, our system will confirm your detail against requirements (have to be certain age or gender), or against detail you already gave them (Name, Email etc.), we thus do not keep record or check which web sites you have visited or joined.

To fully protect the Member's privacy, all verified information of the person on the VERiiD IMS is treated as private and therefore cannot be disclosed without reference. The API will selectively confirm whether information gathered by the Partner site is correct, or not.

The Application Programming Interface (API) securely links the Partner site with VERiiD and does a quick online cross-reference check on the VERiiD system to confirm whether the data collected on the site, matches the data on the VERiiD IMS related to that VERiiD. If the site only requires limited information (i.e. age only), then the needed information only will be selected for confirmation.
